Vision/ Creativity: The Los Angeles County Library put out a request for a custom tote bag. We sent in our proposal for a custom laminated tote bag with full color imprinting on all sides. This would allow the LCPL to showcase their new artwork and get their new branding out to their clients.
Research and Planning: For the tote, the LACPL wanted a large tote bag and we got them a 13”W x 15”H x 10”Gusset with 24” long handles. They were unsure of the finish so we brought them samples of the lamination types and let them choose their preference. They then chose a matte finish.
Implementation and Production: Once the graphics were nailed down it was sent to our production team overseas. Our production team informed us of an issue with the artwork for production. There were too many colors for production. We worked with the client’s art team to narrow down their color palette because of the more than 11 colors in the artwork. We came up with using CMYK printing and 4 PMS colors to create the bag which got it down to 8 colors total for production.
Supply Chain Management and Logistics: The tote bags were manufactured in one of our factories overseas. Shipping for this project went to the client’s warehouse facility in Downey, CA.
Results and Final Product: The initial order for the custom totes was for 24.500 tote bags. These were delivered and at that time they inquired about an order of 6,000 smaller bags that were high gloss, with the same artwork as well. We produced the new smaller bag as well and made delivery and kept to the budget.
